Success is not an exclusive attribute of a chosen few. You can be successful too, if only you don’t quit trying and keep exploring the right platforms with the intent of marketing yourself to the right individuals.
Shifting My Perspective
This write-up is not intended for empty motivation. It is to unveil the hidden reality that is holding people back. I escaped that stagnant reality the moment I stopped seeing everything through a purely spiritual lens.
Everything is not spiritual. We have a major role to play in finding ourselves and discovering our potential.
By doing our part, we might witness a divine hand aiding our ability to succeed. But that won’t happen if we aren’t trying in the right places, especially in this digital era. Take social media, for instance: there are many platforms, but only a few bring you into direct connection with a potential client, customer, or hirer.
My LinkedIn Experiment
Before launching TSO Digital Nest, I never had a personal LinkedIn profile. I only maintained a profile connected to The Sequestered Owl Blog to auto-share content from our community website. Upon launching our web development site, Mariri drew my attention to the importance of maintaining a professional and personal LinkedIn presence.
I didn’t know how LinkedIn worked. But within a single day, I explored the platform and converted the blog profile into a personal one.
When I tried to create business pages for TSO Digital Nest and The Sequestered Owl, LinkedIn blocked me because I didn’t have at least 5 connections. To bypass this baseline restriction, I deliberately sent connection requests to targeted professional profiles within the industry. They accepted, the pages were built, and I structured my profile to showcase my skills in web design, development, and custom coding.
It has only been a few days since the 1st of August, but my inbox is already filling up with connection requests from highly respectable individuals.
Why Originality Matters in the Age of AI
This traction isn’t because I am inherently a VIP; it is because my acquired skills are practical and useful. I don’t use AI-generated templates, nor do I generate my write-ups.
I am by no means discrediting AI’s usefulness to human technical endeavours. However, the fact remains: AI cannot relate to human experience or emotions.
With current hacking issues and shifting digital landscapes, over-reliance on automation is becoming a threat. This is exactly why we shouldn’t entrust our unique human abilities solely to AI services. We should learn from them, yes, but we must maintain our originality and unique tone. Machines will always sound alike according to their programming.
My ability to sail through web development using raw human capability is what keeps my work outstanding. I create new, unique, and stable systems from scratch because I understand the practical mechanics of how they function.
This sets my two websites apart from a sea of platforms that are beginning to look identical due to copy-paste templates. Because I code from scratch, I can build unique User Interfaces (UI), tailored User Experiences (UX), and custom messaging architectures, essentially creating a mini social media platform for logged-in users on a standard website.
